Pancreas Cancer Symptoms

In the region of your upper abdomen, there exists a small organ which is responsible for a lot of different functions in the body. It is known as the pancreas and although it is only 6 inches long, more or less, it has a lot of power in our body. Not only is it responsible for insulin production and the regulating of body sugar, it is also responsible for some digestion of the food. In fact, the pancreas is typically divided into two separate parts, one of which is responsible for a digestion and the other of which is responsible for production of hormones, such as insulin.

There are several different problems which can go wrong with our pancreas. Most commonly, insulin production is reduced or cut off completely which causes diabetes. Another problem which may occur is pancreas cancer. Although this is not one of the most common forms of cancer that there is, it can certainly happen and it does cause a lot of difficult problems. Typically, this type of cancer is very difficult to detect because the pancreas is hidden in behind so many different organs.
