Diseases that can be transmitted from dogs to humans are called zoonoses. Virtually all the diseases of domestic animals (bacteria, viruses and parasites) are spread by direct contact with blood, saliva, urine or feces of an infected animal.
This article does not deal with all but the most common zoonotic diseases that can be transmitted from dogs to humans. You should always consult a physician if you suspect that you or your pet has contracted a disease.
